Well, Lent has started, and while I really don't have anything profound to say about it, I just wanted to point out the obvious:  Lent is a time for you to get closer to God.  So, whatever you choose to sacrifice should lead to Him.  Give up chocolate? - Whenever you see chocolate say a prayer and offer it up.  Give up facebook? - Do something else in that time like reading the Bible.  Also, don't let your giving something up make you cranky.  The whole point is to remove in yourself the attractions to earthly things and fill that "hole" with heavenly things, and if you fill the hole with complaints you're not going to get any closer to God.

I guess I'll have to think of something more interesting...
